Introduction

Slide2 is a little tool that saves AutoCAD slides as Bitmap files or WMFs. Supported Slide files are those of level 2 (that is AutoCAD 9 and later) written on Intel machines. This shouldn't be a serious limitation.

The plan is to provide conversion to DXF as well some day.

Usage

Open a slide with Ctrl-O and view it.

Select a group of slides with Ctrl-B and convert them to Bitmaps. Note that in the file open dialog you have a preview too:

Select a group of slides with Ctrl-W and convert them to Windows Metafiles (WMFs).

For batch conversions, Slide2 accepts a list of slides as parameter. Generate such a list at the DOS prompt with

    dir *.sld /b >slides.txt

or maybe

    dir *.sld /s /b >slides.txt

and then call

    slide2 slides.txt

There is no batch conversion to WMFs yet.

Installation

Copy slide2.exe into any directory you like and create shortcuts and icons to suit your fancy. To uninstall, reverse this process.

History

October 2003: release of version 2.0. Now slides can be saved as Windows Metafiles (WMFs) as well.
